The Summer of ’17 …

Seems that the past months have been mainly occupied with experiments using dominant yellows contrasted by mainly complimentary colours.
Different styles of application – different moods…
All are acrylic on paper,  50 x 40 cm.

Somber moments in sunny May

What happens when you suddenly run out of black, titanium white and paper…?
Well, apart from panic, you find alternatives.
To the rescue black and white gauche, plasticised wall paper – having a fabric effect can give some interesting textures
The last ten days’ work more somber than usual, but in these times somber seems appropriate.
With minimum measurements of 50 cm, and maximum 80 cm, the following are combinations of/between those dimensions

Last Summer…

This all started in the middle of last year…

Maybe the result of finding a large roll of brown wrapping paper – a much larger format than I usually work with

…and coupled with misty memories  of Jackson Pollock and trying to work out where Cy Twombly was coming from.
