Work represented in several European private collections, in the USA and Hong Kong.
Having come to live in France, I changed my semi-realistic/impressionist style to concentrate on purely what I felt ‘on the day’. Obviously years of previous experience and endless inspiration from a variety of sources would be lodged in my subconscious, but the idea was to try and reduce the work to raw immediate emotion.
Spurred on by the statement of the great German artist Gerhard Richter…
« No objectives, no programme; .. the infinite, the boundless … continual uncertainty »
…mood swings, the weather, my interest in tribal art and things happening in my adopted country play their part in the process.
This is not intended to be merely a selling website, but more of an overview as to what has been produced since finding a studio in 2010, though obviously I like to hear from galleries and collectors.
The images shown are just a selection from hundreds of works. Rarely do I not produce some five pieces per week.
A large percentage are acrylic on paper measuring 50×40 cm / 20×16 in, though there are smaller and larger works on paper, canvas, board and a variety of different media and bases, or, as the Americans seem to say, substrates.
Often when I work I seem to create mini series, with variations on the original piece.
Sometimes paintings and drawings are created as a continuation of one idea – though style and technique may suddenly change as new ideas are forever pushing their way into my imagination.
If you are interested in one or more of the images contact me. I will try and track down other of my pictures which relate to that work.
Prices start at under 100 euros, going to the upper hundreds.
